I've been bodybuilding since 2005 and competed in various bodybuilding organizations such as Muscle Mania, FAME and WBFF. I had lot of success in those leagues, as I won such shows as the 2005 Muscle Mania Canada, 2007 Fame National Championships and 2007 WBFF Worlds. It was during this time I also became sponsored by a company called PVL, from which came the brand MUTANT. I was doing really well for myself, but I always knew if I wanted to be a real professional bodybuilder I'd have to become an IFBB Pro! Late 2008 I decided to change roads and aim for that IFBB pro card. It wasn't until 2011, in my second attempt at the CBBF Nationals, that I earned my Pro card by winning the Heavy Weight class.
It was one thing to become a pro bodybuilder; it was another thing entirely to be known as a good pro bodybuilder. Between 2012 and 2013, I did 3 shows and pulled off only one top 5 finish. I wouldn't say I was doing badly, but I sure wasn't surprising anyone with my placing's either. I really didn't want to be a professional bodybuilder who never made an impact on stage. I wanted to make people proud of me — my friends, my fans, MUTANT and especially myself.
After taking the entire 2014 season off, I came back in 2015 ready to do battle. 4 shows, 3 top-5 finishes and even 2nd place at the Dallas Europa! I went from being nobody in the sport, to the breakout athlete of the year. After such a successful season, I had no doubts about what kind of bodybuilder I am and what I could potentially become.
Now my goal is to bust my ass as I move forward knowing that a pro victory is achievable, and competing on the Mr Olympia stage is within my grasp. I have the right mindset, tons of motivation, great fans and the best sponsor in the world to back me up. Watch out for me!
MY CURRENT WORKOUT SPLIT
Day 1: Legs
Day 2: Chest
Day 3: Back
Day 4: Delts
Day 5: Arms
I take 2 days off per week. I take them when I need them.
MY FAVORITE WORKOUT – CHEST
Flat bench: 7 X 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 10, 15
Decline Hammer Strength Machine: 4 X 12, 10, 10, 8
Dumbbell pullover: 4 X 12, 10, 10, 8
Incline bench press: 4 X 10-12
Incline dumbbell fly: 4 X 10-12
Pec deck or cable cross over: 15,12,10,10 usually finish these with drops sets.
MY TYPICAL DIET 6 WEEKS OUT
Meal 1: 5 oz chicken, 8 egg whites, 4 oz oatmeal
Meal 2: 8 oz chicken or tilapia, 1.5 cups white rice, 1 cup green beans
Meal 3: 8 oz chicken or tilapia I , 1.5 cups white rice, 1 cup broccoli
Meal 4: 8 oz tilapia, 1 cup white rice, yu choi (Chinese greens)
Pre-workout: 15 g BCAA, 10 g GLUTAMINE, 5 g CREAKONG, MUTANT PUMP
Intra-workout: 10 g BCAA 9.7
Meal 4: post-workout, 60 g MUTANT PRO 100 with water, then 30 minutes later, I have 40 g WAXY MAIZE (sometimes REHAB), 10 g GLUTAMINE, 10 g BCAA 9.7
Meal 5: 8 oz chicken breast, 6 oz sweet potato, salad
Meal 6: 50 g MUTANT MICELLAR, 5 g fish oil
MY FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL
It's a toss-up between Ribs n beer at Roti Palace in Toronto, or Mom's Ackee 'n Saltfish.
