First of all, if you haven't seen it, watch it above.

I don't feel like I'm exaggerating when I say the MADNESS Mine ad was one of the craziest, most difficult projects we have ever worked on here at MUTANT. The planning was tough, the shoot was complicated, and the post-production was very time-consuming.

When to WING IT

8/26/2015 3:54 PM

Our video content is really good. I feel like I can say that without bragging as it's pretty much agreed within the industry that MUTANT has the best videos. A lot of people ask questions about how much planning goes into some of our bigger or more successful shoots.

The Marathon Is Over

6/11/2015 10:18 AM

Here at MUTANT, the Arnold/FIBO/Bodypower stretch is called the marathon. It's 3 massive shows within less than 60 days, and it really is a long-distance feat. When fans come to the booth and everything looks great, the athletes are taking photos, the video screens look cool, we're shooting a live show, the apparel is all displayed nicely, it all seems so smooth and easy. It's supposed to. But behind the scenes it is definitely an exhausting (although rewarding) experience.

It was at some point around a year and a half ago that the relationship between MUTANT and New York Bully Crew started. Ryan (Dir. Of Marketing) found them on Google. Behind The Lens #6 - GoPro

1/5/2015 10:01 PM

We had Rob Graham come into town a couple weeks ago and shoot some video with us. It’s been a while since we've featured Rob, so it was definitely time. We shot two workouts in one day, arms (of course, have you seen his guns?!) and delts. Doug and I ran the typical setup we’ve used lately, (Doug is our contracted B-camera operator). My Sony FS700, his Canon DSLR rig, and Canon glass on both cameras...

As bodybuilders, I think we are always on the hunt for inspiration. The reality is to be a good bodybuilder requires consistency, and sometimes things can get a little stale. So we look for those things that push us forward and help us to stay focused, keep going, and keep moving towards our goals. Sometimes it's an athlete that motivates us, or a training video, or maybe some words of wisdom in an interview...

I'll admit when I first started working for MUTANT just over a year ago I didn't know who Johnny Doull was. We were introduced quickly though as we brought him out to Vancouver for a video shoot shortly after my own arrival to the city. Two things struck me during that first very basic shoot. One was his sheer power. He was capable of lifting such enormous amounts of weight that people training...
